Tomas is the founder of Fibre Broadband NZ and a digital entrepreneur focused on building broadband technology platforms that make it easier for people to find and compare internet services.
Over the past several years, Tomas has developed broadband availability tools, address lookup platforms, and broadband research resources across Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, South Africa, and now New Zealand. Working closely with internet service providers, broadband partners, and technology companies has provided valuable insight into how different broadband markets operate, how providers compete, and how consumers search for internet services.
While every country has its own infrastructure, regulations, and providers, the objective has remained consistent: build technology that helps people understand what’s available at their address and confidently choose the right broadband provider.
That experience has shaped Fibre Broadband NZ into more than a comparison website. It’s a technology platform designed to simplify broadband research by combining address-based availability, provider information, educational content, and independent recommendations into one easy-to-use experience.
Tharindu Fernando
Co-Founder & Lead Developer
Tharindu Fernando is the technical architect behind Fibre Broadband NZ and has worked alongside Tomas for years building broadband technology platforms across multiple international markets.
He leads the development of the systems that power address searches, provider matching, broadband availability lookups, and data integrations. His work combines mapping technology, geolocation services, broadband databases, and custom-built infrastructure to deliver fast, accurate results tailored to each user’s address.
As Fibre Broadband NZ continues to grow, Tharindu focuses on expanding the platform’s capabilities while maintaining the speed, reliability, and scalability required to support millions of broadband availability searches.
